The instability was caused by CNBC announcing that it looked like intel was going to be socked with a $2B-$8B judgment. The fact that it went down 1 point after that ain't bad.

If the same news came out about AMD, the stock price would be cut in half, if found to be true, the company would go to bankruptcy.
