>>Is it like meditation? Or psychosis.<<

A little of both, I reckon. <g> It's hard to meditate when you are in pain, partly
because the brain is occupied with management. It's hard to meditate when something
is preying on your mind and you can't stop thinking.. about work, bills, love, whatever.
But those times cause you to focus so intently to move past, that if you do, you can
reach incredible heights.

Lots of thoughts on the capabilites and creativity of the brain, but I gotta sleep.

Later, bud.

k, but first, since we're on the subject of pain. I haven't regaled you with a poem in awhile. But talk of pain often brings this back to me. This was a "bordering on psychotic" time. I really did see myself wrapped in a glowing strand. And my eyes bled. Ick. The mind finds a way of expressing. Of surviving.

Winter Solstice

empty thoughts of hands left hanging
pains need gently teasing
the look the hand offering warmth
desire choked no eyes answer
sorry, these eyes twisted
set ablaze by love torn
dancing the jagged edge between scenes
battered dreams scream terror from eyes bruised
behind walls burning crying
for hands out of reach
eyes soft alluring in misty shadows
offering shelter
a light caress to soothe the lash
laughter's invitation
dancing on whispering breeze
the touch draws blood
skin shivers burns
ripped from festering wounds
mind tears splashing pain
knife edge honed in fire's rage
flashes unbidden
beware the dark child
wrapped in shimmering lashes
cruel shame
savage blade slicing
the gleaming message turned to pain
falling stars are but laughter's tears
glimmering from wounded eyes
