Microsoft was responsible for creating the WWW? You're kidding right?

Didn't say they did. They added support to their OS. You said that nothing's happened since 1991.

Win 95 basically fixed all of the bugs in Win 3x. It actually brought the windows box up to Macintosh standards. It did have really great icons though. Very few innovations at a price of $100.

Win95's totally different than Win 3.x. Whether it's better or worse than a competitor's product (but there aren't any competitors) is a different Holy War.

I will grant that plug-n-play has been a great addition to Windows. But guess what.... they didn't invent that either.

Never said they invented it, but they sure added support. Why should a software shop be expected to invent hardware? They should be expected to use it.

USB. Integrated into the OS, but not invented by Microsoft.

Nope. Why should a software shop be expected to invent hardware? They should be expected to use it.

You need to separate the notion of innovation from that of integration. They are very, very different issues.

And you need to realize that integration is an extremely valuable service. On other platforms and for customized applications it's still a high-dollar item. For instance, my employer is considered a World Class Software Integrator by Boeing and others in the flight business.
