Now, Zoltan, I wear my glasses when I think! <g> And I don't think the following sentence in my original post, to which you refer, indicates that I am "setting myself up as the final authority": As someone whose job it was for years to follow Gorbachev, let me say that I agree 100%. The fact is that it WAS my job to follow Gorbachev, so I thought a lot about him, and what he was doing. Doesn't mean I am any kind of final authority. But I do think I have some observations to share you might have found interesting -- if you had not chosen to dismiss them even before I made them.
