Hi Mark:

If what you say is true -- that a manufacturer can update the SW once "you are on the inside (IOW certified)," then why did CMTO tweak (update) its SW on a non-certification issue when re-submitting the modem for certification in September only to have that tweak result in failure to meet certification standards?

It would have been more prudent to have submitted the non-tweaked modem that had previously been tested as complying with certification standards. Once passing CableLabs Certification, then it would have been prudent to update the SW. Is my thinking on this issue correct, or am I missing something here?

Regards,

lml
