Nice find, steve.

Acer, mentioned as a laptop maker in the article, is a Veridicom partner. Acer is a very low-level player in the PC marketplace.

Compaq is clearly an IDT/IDX OEM.

Digital Persona has made an "IBM-compatible" announcement for its peripheral, but there's nothing exclusive about it, and IBM might at this stage fairly be considered as testing out the market on biometrics, but vendor-neutral.

Motorola is ours.

Nokia and Ericcson have not been associated with any particular brand of biometrics, yet.

This article provides the first mention of biometrically protected pagers that I have seen. Clearly, the potential for incorporation of this technology is rapidly growing, although you can bet that there is still very low general awareness of it outside the industry and these threads.
