Fully agree with you but two things I remembered this am: they still will announce the handset sale AND they are likely to announce that analysts need to increase expectations for the q to in excess of a buck.If there is any surprise in either announcement, it may be that the pe expands to 90-110x e before deflating to 50-60. We will certainly get a 25% drop after the split, but not necessarily right after.

MileHigh,

After suffering through 1997 and 1998, and taking a few dozen passengers along for the ride, I am enjoying both the ride up and the playful crowd in the car with me. Whatever follows cannot possibly be worse than the preceeding years. I also have a really good Everen Securities story, but will save it for another day.

One happy and seriously vindicated Cooter

i agree, even at the very high end of estimates of $6/shr. that puts us at a 100pe.
isn't 100pe a little too high or does anyone think they'll do better then $6.

MileHigh,

In almost every instance I can think of, you would be correct but "Generally Accepted Investment Principles" cannot be applied to this stock. I realize that the Economically Correct thing to say is exactly what you said, not that you don't believe your statement. I talked to four brokers today and not one understood CDMA. I am sorry but the world is ignorant of what is about to hit them and so are a lot of individuals who should know. If anyone thinks that I am Flaming this stock for Rah Rah purposes, they are wrong. There are dynamics working in conjunction with each other in QCOM that each and of themselves would move Q in a big way, but in concert it will prove to be CATACLYSMIC. I said the day after the split that this stock WOULD NOT GO BACK DOWN because of four Psychological dynamics, they are still in play. Of those four, the most powerful is beginning to manifest itself, TIME COMPRESSION. For all practical purposes there are no sellers and the more the time compresses and we draw closer to the split date there will be less and less and the more explosive it will move. If anything I may be conservative in my views, this is not an Amazon or even and AOL for that matter. This is a stock with about 1/5th the stock and 5 times the earnings of one of biggest darlings of Wall St, AOL. Like I have said before, they will not be putting down land lines in Africa, India, Russia and most other places around the world. My contentions are based on the ignorance of the investment community and the rest of the world at this point in time. I have very little respect for the graybeards on Wall St., most are Bell Curve mothers who have been schooled by the Barton Biggs of the world, they will be slow to grasp but urgent to catch up. There comes a time in investing when one has to pull himself up and peer over the conventionality curtain of TOO FAST, TOO BIG, CAN'T CAN'T, STOP STOP, REMEMBER WHEN!

Another factor coming into play other than my four Psychological factors is that baby boomers generally speaking don't buy paper stocks, transports, and stocks that are generally good for the old USA. They want Beemers and technology and the establishment be damned, that is why all the Barton Biggs trained yes people keep talking about the Broader Market and how it is going to catch up, I got news for them, IT AIN'T GOING TO HAPPEN. It's not the Barton Biggs of the world that will be plowing their 401 money and any other Texas Tens they get a hold of into QCOM, it is the young rich individuals who have touched, breathed and made magnificent money on todays technology. We are talking about a company that not only is a Quasi Monopoly, will own the rights to possibly a world standard, and once their Handset Division is sold could have as much as FOUR THOUSAND MILLION DOLLARS in the bank and for all practical purposes no overhead. These dynamics are almost surreal and that is why I appear pollyanna in my views. Well trust me, the Houses will not see it as pollyanna come about six more months when I have all my money by then lying like a clap-trap in 2001 leaps. I am not into diversification no more than I would be if I went to Vegas and took my money, split it up and played four games instead of one. I am not saying people should follow me, I am just telling you how I will do it. Give me one Stud that will run and let me ride until he can run no more. I am telling you we have a once in a 20 yr. opportunity and I for one am betting everything I have on what I feel others can not or will not see.

$450 by the split should be a cinch and I will be stunned if after the split we are not at $150 in thirty days there after.

respectfully,

Voltaire
