"Cyber Tantrums" <VBG>!!
If this was an all hot money move, we would have pulled back below 2 by now. The day traders don't have that much patience.

So it appears that there is some renewed buying interest in the company. There was a few positive things about Q3. First, they announced earnings earlier than usual. This would indicate that they have fixed whatever problems they had before that were delaying results. Second, 43% of the current network is now DITV. Installations kept pace with last quarter at about 200/month. They seem to have the attitude that they aren't concerned about the expiration of the AOL agreement. Last time we kept hearing that "we are still in negotiations", "we are confident we won't lose this business", and the like. The NFL partnership has been increased. Wherever the NFL goes, piles of cash follow. We'll have to see if NTN gets any significant slice.

I'm glad to see that the two legal issues have been resolved with no serious injury to resources. Anyone know if the BSA payments cover the use of DOS in the old network systems? If not, then there is still an issue with Big Bill.

Now, I'm wondering why we haven't seen the 10Q filed yet. Could be it isn't ready, or they're waiting to include some significant anticipated developments.

We still have good volume.

Cheers,

Rich

Hi June,
This sort of explains why there apparently will be no new
NTN/AOL contract:

biz.yahoo.com

FOCUS-Electronic Arts and AOL in online games deal

(adds analysts' and CEO comments, details throughout, closing stock prices, previous New York)

By Therese Poletti

SAN FRANCISCO, Nov 22 (Reuters) - In a bid to become the world's top provider of video games online, Electronic Arts Inc.
(NasdaqNM:ERTS - news) agreed to be the sole supplier of games to America Online Inc. (NYSE:AOL - news), the No. 1 Internet
service provider.
[...]

But we see NTN up a whole bunch today on huge volume. Obviously there are some speculators out there.
- could NTN be one of the "Infrastructure Additions" mentioned? This is possible in light of the fact that NTN has a rather high profile on AOL as a brand, winning many top 50 or 25 or whatever awards in past years.
- could this signal the entrance of monthly in-home subscriptions for online games at the range of $10/month? NTN has the experience in online gaming and has the tested largest online library. NTN and a partner yet to be named (yahoo rumor is "yet = this Wednesday" but I never take much stock in those forecasts) could provide a competing service without demanding AOL sign-up. Anyone want to venture a guess that it's msn.com? msn has been offering these $400 "rebates" on computer packages provided you sign up for a long term deal. NTN might make a good fit. In addition, they state in the article that online revenue will be around $50-70M. Hmmm...

Disclaimer: All of the proceeding is baseless speculation.

Other comments on the source of the huge run today are welcome.

Cheers,

Rich$
