Unclewest,

Very nice sentiments re: the Veteran's. Makes me feel a little guilty that one of my goals for Q and other Gorillas is that they will allow me to have an early retirement from the VA! :-)

unclewest, I never served in the armed forces, but over the past 15 years DoD has been my customer, both here and in Europe. I learned what kind of very smart, dedicated people are in the Army, Navy and Air Force and really respect them (sorry, haven't worked with the Marines. Perhaps I don't deserve them <g>)

We are prosperous, healthy, and optimistic today because of the sacrifices of our veterans and the men and women who serve today are helping assure a bright future for our country, and, indeed, the entire world.

The verterans of WWII (my parents' generation) are the greatest generation of modern times. I particularly take my hats off to them.

Thank you, veterans!!

The Iwa Jima memorial in Washington, DC is nothing short of compelling. If you or anyone ever has the opportunity to check it out, don't miss it. And unclewest . . . thanks to you.

OT:

Thanks for that unclewest. I'm ex-82nd and proud as punch of it. In fact, I've a leather Ike jacket with all my "stuff" from ROTC days forward sewn on, and I wear it about half the year.

My compliments to all who served the US Armed Forces on this Veterans Day.

As a 20 year veteran of the special forces, you have
earned both my admiration and gratitude, Uncle West.

Frank

Unclewest:

The flag hangs and flies at our house nearly every day of the year. Based on my experience, there are alot of US flags hanging from homes here in New England, where so much of the American Revolutionary War was fought.
