Dan: First off looks like MS is doing a thing with Radio Shack. If there is a deal with Loral, it is not out yet.

Second, if you want to contest G*'s "over inflated stock price' perhaps the G* thread would be a tad bit more appropriate.

Third, sorry to hear you got 'burned' by Iridium, but how can you say investing in Loral beats the straight play in G*. If you are talking about a risk reduction you also have to stomach the reduced potential. Year to date, G* has done much better than Loral and G* is closer to its 3yr high than Loral is. About the best thing you can say about Loral is that it is more of a value play at this point.

I have been trying to benefit from Loral's broadband growth for a couple years, I have not made much progress.

Here is to holding on to some of today's gains.

What could Microsoft want with loral? Certainly not Cyberstar- as Cyberstar is a competitor to Teledesic which was started in part by Bill Gates. Now, if Loral were to drop Cyberstar and MSFT bought the Lockheed stake and helped out Globalstar (maybe by packaging MSFT software on future G* phones? Remember, Qualcomm and MSFT are in a joint venture already.) Then that might make sense... but it still seems odd. Odd even for a rumor.

We'll see.

PS- I got burned by Iridium too- down %100. However, my LOR LEAPS are down %85 as well. At this point being acquired by Microsoft would be a blessing!
