MDR options... Jim, I'm not sure how heavy 950 contracts really is. If it is 95 guys/gals buying 10 contracts each I would not view that as significant volume. Moreover, I would guess it is retail buying judging by the prices paid. Theoretical value on the Dec 15s is 3/8s. The closing bid was 3/4. Specialists wouldn't be paying double. And if specialists were selling the calls they would hedge by going long the stock. I didn't see much volume buying today did you? That could mean we are not done going down, or may simply mean that all the option activity was directly between investors without specialist involvement at all. In either case I'm not sure we can rely on the options data from today to conclude that a bottom is in. I would like to think so because I got long at 14 7/8ths but we shall see --- FWIW, the Philly options exchanges offers all the "greek" data on options if you enjoy trading that way as I do. Good Luck.
