<<I would easily relinquish this
dubious power.>>

Say what! I didn't realize you had any more power on SI than anyone else. Was I wrong?

Ok, I think I understand your proposal now. You are proposing that a thread host or thread creator should not be allowed to post on any thread except the one they created. Is that it?

I don't feel your proposal would be a good idea for the general population because so many of them have created threads that they couldn't talk to each other as they now do if they were restricted to only one thread.

If the intent of your proposal was to limit people like yourself, Donald Baillargeon, A@P, T.A.P., Mr. Metals, or others that use silicon investor for commercial purposes to one thread then it might have some merit.

There are many people posting at SI who make a living pushing stocks put out by tout newsletters but not all of them are not thread heads. What rules would you have for people like them that have never started a thread?

Jenna,

I have an idea. What if everyone on SI, I mean every single member, starts their own thread? Every single one of us would be a thread head, or a thread host, originator or whatever. Now if SI were to implement this "thread head" rule you're proposing and restrict thread heads from posting on other threads then there would be no one available to post on anyone else's thread. That would be pretty boring don't you think?

I suggest modifying the rule a little. How about this, "thread big heads" should be required to keep there petty little arguments on their own thread. If you feel like attacking another "thread big head" do it on their thread or your thread.

If we go with your rule I going to name my thread "The Grateful Thread." Any groupies who want to post on the thread are going to be called "Thread Heads."

Regards

Tom

ps: If you are abiding by your self-imposed rule I won't expect a response.

Jenna, try reading what you write, and after reading it, practice it!

<" I also don't believe thread hosts should be allowed to ban anyone from their threads
because who knows if the host him or herself is in need of banning or just using that
'authority' to be a mayor or autocrat... I don't believe in censorship per se, but I feel a
thread host who has the ability to ban should exemplify good language, objective opinions
and be a sort of loosely based 'role model' for the thread. There is nothing wrong with
professional and proper conduct. It is what will make SI great.. Foul language, temper
tantrums, was not in the schematics of those that saw the vision of SI. I've tried other
forums just to compare, nothing compares with SI. Just try some of the newest ones, then you will appreciate what we have here.

Do you consider yourself a good "role model", do you have a bit in your tongue, do you throw tantrums, are you professional, are you proper...this goes for your PM's as well as your public posts...

If you are the "hostess with the mostest", then act like it!

Good night,
David II

I too often have trouble understanding the phrasing you use in your english that you present here on this thread.

Perhaps you should go back and read what you post and fix the grammatical errors...

So what are you trying to say?
