Web, imo, there won't be a dsl gorilla.

I think that depends on how you define that. I stopped following the DSL space a couple years ago, but I do remember that Texas Instruments bought Amati. At the time, Amati was the leader in DSL chip-set technology in their type of technology competing to become the adopted standard.

I don't remember if Alcatel is a DSL licensee or builds it themselves, but I think it's the former. It's very possible that we should be calling Texas Instruments the leading contender to become the gorilla of DSL chips.
