Jesus points to men who think they are serving God by fasting yet they are serving themselves and they "have their reward" Again supposedly loving and giving men glorifying themselves: Matthew 6:2 Therefore when thou doest thine alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. So then does this prove that that is always the case... I suppose not. So then a man can be a hero simply to be a hero.. Others are embarrassed by being called heros. Some men have risked their lives to save animals from peril.. this is honorable perhaps... Proverbs 12:10 A righteous man regardeth the life of his beast: but the tender mercies of the wicked are cruel. I would hope that if my dog fell in a swift river I would not jump in after it. ( Although who knows until your there ) I would rather hope the dog survive.. indeed he likely stands a better chance with claws and all.. but I would feel it a better choice to remain alive and serve men than to die saving a dog. Why ... because God has made a difference between man and animals. Animals do not possess eternal souls. They are not immoral of themselves. We have fools in here praying for Public Sex or so they say for effect. We are not animals .. we are created by God in His Moral Image ! Those who sin will perish except they be saved ! RE>>I also don't understand how if someone didn't want to donate an organ to a mad dog,(or hitler) how that impacts their unconditonal love for their child?<< When I say I have not seen "UNCONDITIONAL LOVE" I do not simply mean Love with no strings attached... Indeed if I get a Gift that leads to the ole " YOU OWE ME BONDAGE " it is no gift at all but mere manipulation ! A gift with a hook... I do buy my wife flowers "expecting" from time to time however.. but she doesn't seem to mind :-} What I am saying is that many many people would give a kidney to your innocent little girl child unconditionally in that they expect nothing in return... but would they not "expect" at least a thank-you as a condition of giving ??? Would they give that same organ to a horrible criminal who is sentenced to die in 3 months ?? The giving is conditional on the WORTHINESS of the RECEIVER That is the condition that always exists ! Even if it is only presumed on the spot ! Have you ever heard " I'll never help that guy again " What that means is " That fellow is not worthy of my love " Even God CANNOT do some things and be true to Himself God is Jealous of His People ... If He was not He would be unloving ! How then could I love a god that did not care if I was devoted to Him or some Idol ? That would be an evidence that I was just another pretty face and not HIS at all ! There is Right Jealousy and Evil Jealousy If I have a faithful wife and I do.. If i suspected her of Adultery That would be sin. However if she "cheated" on me and I was not jealous then it would be manifest that I did not really care for her or OUR RELATIONSHIP at all.. ==== OPEN MARRIAGE IS NOT MARRIAGE IT IS FORNICATION ! ==== God cannot love unrighteousness nor the unrighteous and not be partakers of their sin. Parents who continue to love their children after they have committed horrible crimes and still show no remorse have a very evil and selfish love. God has not of THAT ! 2 Peter 2:9 The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished: They are unworthy just as the mad and vicious dog is unworthy of love. It is loving to others to put that dog down.. or the wicked to hell ! Psalm 107:40 God poureth contempt upon princes, and causeth them to wander in the wilderness, where there is no way. 41 Yet setteth he the poor on high from affliction, and maketh him families like a flock. 42 The righteous shall see it, and rejoice: and all iniquity shall stop her mouth. If God being Good does not Hate Evil how then shall he be Good ? Can God look the other way while men devour steal and destroy and love those men unconditionally ? Do you serve a God that LOVES FROM THE HEART THE EVIL ? That is satan's trick. My God acts lovingly toward evil men everyday but He does not LOVE THEM FROM THE HEART ! He hates and will destroy the wicked in the Lake of Fire Forever! I love Him also for that! I have learned not to have sympathy for the devil or his sons. Jesus has no sympathy for satan and his lot. When you arrive at the day of judgement, if you have not repented will it be my fault ? You may say things like... He was rude and lacked social graces.. do you think that will cut it ? You have had many witnesses not just me: Romans 1:20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: I hope you have the humility to fall to your knees and pray for God to show you himself..
