Brian - Re: "I still can not understand after all these years how so many analysts act like Jerry's little lap dogs, get screwed and come back for more. I guess hope must spring eternal."

Jerry gave a classic "Come To Jesus" performance yesterday - and most of the analysts got the Ol'Time AMD Religion !

What no one has commented on is the fact that AMD's FLASH business WAS profitable last quarter, and will be hugely profitable this quarter - yet AMD is predicting only "BREAK EVEN" for the quarter.

Well, that tells me they are LOSING LOTS OF MONEY STILL on Microprocessors - and their 2 or 3 month lead on Intel (with their AthWIPE) has evaporated - Intel is back in the ball game.

If AMD couldn't make money on Microprocessors this quarter, and Intel is ramping Coppermine CPUs and getting (hopefully) the Rambus issue BEHIND them, Intel will start turning the crank faster and faster on the AMD treadmill - and that will make it even MORE difficult for AMD to try and get profitable in the upcoming quarters.
