To All, there are different kinds of threads on SI. Some are more suitable for beginners and some for intermediates and some for more advanced players. This thread to me is for intermediate and advanced players. So anyone that is a beginner who feels they got burned in a pump and dump type situation needs to look in the mirror and see if B or I or A is marked on their forehead before the word "trader". If you can't tell the difference it is better to go to a slower thread and start to learn something to be able to make your own judgements and calls. This is most often called and frequently referred to here as DD. Learning and making your own decision on who and what to do after some appropriate research--whatever yours happens to be--is crucial to growth as a trader. This thread is about alot of experienced people (who still always need to learn more) who can make decisions based on various input. No one who is forced to get into any trade in any way. We all eventually "decide" to enter a trade. Also I would believe most of the experienced more advanced traders know that no one knows where a stock is going and when exactly. That type of thing comes with a crystal ball. We just "speculate" based on our own factors of discrimation and feel and thought. Because of the advanced nature of this thread you will find the regular advanced players not complaining about pump and dump situations cause they have learned one of the basic cardinal rules of trading that needs to be learned as early on in trading as possible and it wouldn't hurt in life either. They believe they are totally l00% responsible for their trading choices. They are "big boys and girls" who have been around the trading block enough to realize there is no one to really blame for what happens with a trade per se. It is not called "hog-tied to a pump and dump" trade---no one hog-ties anyone here. More advanced traders adjust, learn something, make a new rule, keep good rules, change a system, adjust something, whatever with each trade. One thing you won't likely find is "you made me do it you dirty bird!" If you see a bunch of that you know you are at the lowest level of threads and maybe that is a good place to start. But, if you want to learn how to improve what what the more successful advanced traders talk like. That is what I did. I looked to sort out the traders as soon as I could but it takes time to learn. Now, with that in mind, and being I think that is one of the signs about how far advanced in trading you are (not by wins necessarily but by thinking and acting and adjusting and formulating)--I would say that if you feel you have handed your "trading destiny" into someone else's DD or judgement or crystal ball projections and it didn't turn out and you feel sour or angry or bitter....well it might be time to fill in some more learning in your trading cause there are some necessary steps of development that have not been met yet and this feeling is a sign to do some more work on yourself.---especially if you are going to be in the big pond here with the big boys and gals.--who have no responsibility for anyone but themselves and learned that a long time ago and take l00% credit and blame for their own trades. So I would say this negative blaming sour feeling is a wake up call to either go into a smaller pond with smaller fish, put your money in with someone who knows what they are doing to manage it, or learn from the big boys how they act, think, etc.....while YOU trade at your level after whatever for you amounts to DD on your part for a trade. It would be doing yourself a big favor......and you can start personally taking l00% responsibility right there for the first time and start getting used to it. It is an imperative trading habit to have if you want to move in with the big boys (and gals). IMHO Autumn
