greater fool is person who fails to recognize a gorilla

in 1989 I owned a large position in MSFT but sold it nine months later... I understood the proprietary nature of its Windows architecture, but didnt fully recognize its potential... didnt expect every single desktop in corporate America (if not developed world) to boast a PC

valuation is always difficult
I maintain a fair price based upon FY2k earnings and reasonable PEratio tied to growth rate -- 700-900

the problem is that recalibration must be an orderly process within the confines of an equilibrium-based system

I prefer the 20pt upmoves, followed by a day of resting, followed by another 20pt upmove, followed by another day of resting, etc

some reasonable price targets are out there now
next we need some reasonable FY2k earnings estimates
roughly $3 in FY99 followed by $4.50 in FY2k is a fxing joke

to date FY2k estimates have been wholly incompatible with the current earnings growth rate exhibited for the last three quarters and accelerating as we speak

the smart people comprehend the awesome potential... a large proportion of Americans (if not the entire developed world) will own data-driven cellphones... Dick Tracy wrist 2-way phones with video are only 3-4 years away... wireless internet is Qualcomm's domain... QCOM sits at the epicenter of the burgeoning wireless world, where voice and data are to converge, and the wireless internet is to become a rage... in three years, handheld PC's will outpace desktop PC's in sales

the smart people see this awesome potential and the toll-taking rights owned by theQ... they see QCOM as a "MUST OWN STOCK"

Cosmo,

It is really funny, and aggravating at the same time,
when these weekend stock market journalists NEVER seem
to discuss EPS and PEG as it relates to Q stock price
lately.

Again, it sort of supports my theory of Big Numbers tend
to distort reality. People tell me daily, "What!! $395 per
share? That's too expensive!!"

Which one is currently more expensive? It might surprise
you. Wait until the stock is $100 post split. Then it
will cost less! LOL!!

'01 EPS Growth Current
Price Est's Rate PE PEG
SUNW $119 $2.20 20% 54 2.70
JDSU $200 $1.77 45% 112 2.48
QCOM $378 $5.19 35% 73 2.08
CSCO $ 83 $1.26 30% 65 2.16

Regards,
