Razorbak, all this talk of asbestos, Babcock & Wilcox,
boilers, lawyers and contingent liability has prompted me
to make the following (semi-serious) suggestion: perhaps
we should remove the qualifier "strictly" from the title of
this thread: "Strictly: Drilling and oil-field services"
Best regards, Bill.

Razor,

And now for the Readers' Digest version please? Interested in this situation but unfortunately have neither the time nor the inclination to wade though the myrk & mire.

Basic question: Is the "realistic worst case" here, that MDR just pulls the plug on their B&W sub? If so, any ideas as to the book value of B&W?

I'd be willing to pay net tangible book value for MDR, exclusive of the B&W book value. Once we get past tax loss season (and further along the oil price recovery) I might even pay a premium over this price.
