MDR = Oil Field Services

Bill: Whether you like it or not, McDermott is one of the largest oil field service companies in the world (http://www.mcdermott.com/). Babcock & Wilcox is only a subsidiary. Those are facts, and they won't change until management decides to exit the oil field services industry. Given that they recently bought out the remaining equity interest in J. Ray McDermott and oil prices are again well above $20/bbl, I suspect that they're not planning to exit anytime soon. This asbestos liability scare just makes this company an even cheaper play. People are only posting about the asbestos-liability issue because that's what caused the recent melt-down.

FWIW, I tried to combine all of that recent information comparing Raytech and McDermott in one post, but SI wouldn't cooperate because it was too lengthy, so I spread it out over multiple posts, clearly labeling the posts for the benefit of you (and others) who may not have been interested. That's what the "Next" button is for. May I (semi-seriously) suggest that you use it next time? <vbg>

OTOH, you can also put me on "Ignore" via the New SI. That will no doubt be even more effective. ;-)

Best regards,

Razor
