Lanier Worldwide sets stock buyback

ATLANTA, Nov 30 (Reuters) - Lanier Worldwide Inc., (NYSE:LR - news) an equipment company recently spun off by Harris Corp., (NYSE:HRS - news) said on Tuesday its board approved a share buyback of up to 8 million shares.

The company, which supplies copiers, fax and dictation products, said it will retain the purchased shares as treasury stock for use under Lanier's stock option plan and for other corporate purposes. Lanier has about 79.15 million shares outstanding, according to Standard & Poors Market Scope.
