Monu. Interesting question came to mind as I read your post on 11/15. You mention your "...whole life was a search..." Did you have any idea what you were searching for and what was it that you found that stopped the search? And I mean spcifically if you can ellucidate.

Personally, I felt the same way. When I became a christian at 13 and all through my adult life till about 29 or so, I was aflicted with a need to search and pray. Despit what I believed at the time was jesus in my life, I still creaved for something more. Eventually I found it. But the it I searched for and the it I found were two different things. Peace at last, yet more than I expected. One must beware the answers to the questions we place before god.

So I wonder, as I often do about christians, if you really have thought much about what your searching for? Most christians do not give it any thought at all, just go with the emotions.

RE>> I wasn't consciously searching for God, j<<

OK I can accept that as true.. I just can't buy the I was looking for something and I FOUND GOD mentality because God is not the one who is lost nor is it us who are seeking as it is written:

Ezek 34:15 I will feed my flock, and I will cause them to lie down, saith the Lord GOD.
16 I will seek that which was lost, and bring again that which was driven away, and will bind up that which was broken, and will strengthen that which was sick: but I will destroy the fat and the strong; I will feed them with judgment.

Jesus came to find the sheep.. ask any shepherd - they have to go get the sheep :-}

John 10:16 And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd.

This verse teaches that Jesus HAS other sheep that have not yet heard His voice which MUST be brought by Jesus. He state that they SHALL hear ...

Compare with this verse :

John 10:26 But ye believe not, because ye are not of my sheep, as I said unto you.

Why is it so hard for people to see that is says They believe not because they are not sheep !

It does not say You are not sheep BECAUSE you do not believe.

I just answered my own question never mind :-}

RE>> Why pray for those who "despitefully" use you?<<

There are different ways to pray for those who despitefully use you .

You never know they may be Elect

When Saul was forced to his knees By Jesus and renamed Paul on the road to Damascus The Christians had to be told by God direct that it was not a trick... One minute Paul was killing Christians the next He was submitted to the Lord but what does Paul say about himself... I accepted the Lord by my own free will ???

Look:

Gal 1:15 But when it pleased God, who separated me from my mother's womb, and called me by his grace,
16 To reveal his Son in me, that I might preach him among the heathen; immediately I conferred not with flesh and blood:

Ephesians 1:4 According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:

There are also Imprecatory Prayers where the Righteous can pray for God to judge their enemies.. This is also prayer.

Psalm 83:13 O my God, make them like a wheel; as the stubble before the wind.
14 As the fire burneth a wood, and as the flame setteth the mountains on fire;
15 So persecute them with thy tempest, and make them afraid with thy storm.
16 Fill their faces with shame; that they may seek thy name, O LORD.
17 Let them be confounded and troubled for ever; yea, let them be put to shame, and perish:

RE>>If God is Love, how can it not be His will? <<

Why did Jesus not pray for the world... you don't answer any of my questions ?

What does this verse teach about God:

Romans 9:13 As it is written, Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated.

RE>> Don't make me get The Bible Answer Man, Hank Hannegraaf, to further answer your statements on predestination (smile).<<

Could you - it would be FUN. ( even bigger smile )

Romans 9:13 As it is written, Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated.
