Kemble: Re Dell article:
Great stuff in there . Web sales double in nine months...
After converting to Dell computers, Eastman wants the whole
web capability and sends men to learn about it. That says its
not simple- its a whole enterprise Dell spent many years
developing and we did not see on the Austin trip.
Its no wonder that others consider it 'easy' to copy the Dell model direct but have trouble making it work unless they have access to the
arrangements and systems behind the company walls.
When web sales double again, its $21 bil/year alone.
The rewards and recognition will be there and don't know when but
wish it would be soon. Maybe the new boxes, new Christmas
products, new contracts will turn the tide.
Whenever in the past I sold a few Dell shares, it has cost me
around $7/sh to get it back. I'm risking some now on Aol, the Q-pig etc.
PS: Have pretty well decided to attend the QCOM meeting in San Diago about Feb or Mar. Visit Freeus, neighbors we haven't seen since leaving
CA. in 1995. May get down to fish at Cabo also.
Regards
Sig
