I'm guessing that when you added a new primary drive, "C:" was assigned to it and "D:" was assigned to your original drive. Although you have the same files on your original drive, to find them, your software must look to "D:" instead of "C:" as before.

Software exists to correct this. Powerquest includes a 'disk re-mapping' utility with Drive Image, I think. As yet, I haven't needed to do this, so I cannot offer an opinion on these programs, but the task is simple enough that I couldn't see much going wrong. (A candidate for the 'Famous Last Words' thread!)

P.S. Many people keep their original primary drive and assign their new drives as secondary. This would explain why your problem hasn't been discussed on this thread, as yet.
