I believe an ontological argument is the premise (on a very basic level)that, since we can conceive of something greater than ourselves(God), it must therefore be so, or we wouldn't be able to conceive of it. I am not sure, but that is what I think an ontological argument is.

If that is it, it proves nothing, except that a God may exist, but it says nothing about who or what that God is. It does not follow that God is how you perceive him to be. Of course it doesn't prove that he isn't how you perceive him either.....
