re <<For the last three days there seems to be steady institutional buying of AMD (per I-Watch thomsoninvest.net. ) and whenever I look at the real time quotes, I usually see a favorable bid/ask volume.

Does this mean there is some serious accumulation in the works here? Can some one expand on what this means to the price action heading into the options Friday and after that?>>>

Chuck, I would not rely on Thomson's too much. Its a weird indicator and seems to be contrarian...when it shows a lot of buying, I have found that the stock will be going down and visa versa. Having said that, I do think institutions are taking small positions in AMD...its float is big enough so that if things turn bad they can get out fairly quickly.

As for the current stock price, its moved up fairly quickly and now is doing what's called "filling in the gap" (gap as in gap up). In doing that it will need to establish a new trading range, probably between 24 to 29. I think the stock will be very, very sensitive to news right now. Barring any bad news market or company wise, I think there will be a slow trend upwards to Q4 earnings. If the report shows a break even or small profit, the stock will explode.

Sorry that I am so vague but its hard with a stock like AMD. Richard Wang may be able to give more details.
