Tenchusatsu, re:<Only two million Coppermines this quarter>
As I recall the interview with Ottelini, he was asked about reports of a shortage of the chip. His answer was something like, "Despite all the problems (motherboards, RAMBUS, earthquake [Blame everything on the earthquake!]) Intel "still" would ship "millions" of the new Coppermine chip.

Is the word "millions" consistent with Intel's former guidance, or did they promise something more specific? I'm also quite sure he used the word "still," as if to say they will just manage to meet the target by superhuman effort.

[edit] - I think he used the term "double digit millions" for Q1'00.

RE <<<Petz, you are really reaching here. Only two million Coppermines this quarter. Uh huh. Is there any reason why you'd want to grossly underestimate Intel like that?>>

Ten, you post that question as if there is no basis for underestimating. Two mil. chips probably is low but at the same time there is no "flooding of the channels" as purported in earlier intc long postings nor do I take the doubletalk announcements coming out of intc these days as gospel.

Frankly the burden of proof is on intc, just as it is on AMD.....so to regain some credibility, you might post some links with your objections. It would certainly help facilitate more reasonable discussions.

I don't know about two million but my sources tell me that the speed bins are gonna be L O W...
PB and you may see lots of Flopperstopper wafers heading out the door but maybe they aren't sawing up too nicely, or binning too well or even making final testing too well...Hint...
