Question to all readers:

We've seen meteoric rises in many of our favorite FC companies, EMLX, ANCR, QLGC, BRCD, etc... 1000% plus gains in a very short period of time. I was recently trying to justify the market caps of these companies and had a bit of a tough time doing so. Predictions of a 15 billion dollar FC market within a few years still doesn't seem to totally justify the combined market caps of all the companies in the sector.

My question is, going forward from today's pricing level, which companies are the most 'undervalued' in the sector relative to their peers? For those newcomers to the FC industry, who should we recommend as their initial investment?

Note: My first reaction is to say LSI and ANCR but with both stock's recent run ups, I'm wondering if maybe I'm overlooking some obvious alternatives (MTIC, QLGC or some of the recent IPOs)?

All opinions welcome.

Michael

George, Thanks for your post, I found the information very interesting. The comment about "cross fertilization" of NAS and Fibre Channel to create some hybrid breeds is interesting also. I know that MTI is involved in doing systems using NAS and Fibre Channel combined into hybrid systems. MTI seems to always be on the cutting edge.

Cheers,
Joe

P.S. Sorry I didn't get a chance to respond to your post on the Ancor thread last weekend. I appreciated your insights. I used to do quite a bit of mountain biking, but have not had a chance lately. I know it is a good time to think while riding. Usually a short hike in the Santa Monica Mountains near my home, is a good way for me to unwind and analyze my strategies.
