Just out of curiosity, do you know the acreage of the plot the house sits on? And where is Torrance precisely? The reason I ask is that a house like that, on a reasonably large plot of ground, would go for about that price in my area, and since the question of California real estate comes up, I thought it might give me some perspective, if I knew the details.....

Hmmmmmmm I sold a 5,000 sq ft Cape Cod in Ct. on 1/2 an acre. Made a few $$$$$$$$$ Wish I had kept it.:-( It had a
Basement Rec Room with a Professional Wet Bar..finished with Barnwood. The Bartop was 2 inch Antique hand hewn' Oak...
Four Baths..etc...Never shoulda sold it...:-( I decorated it in
Victorian Antiques..oh well.....
