Lucias, EMC is the biggest threat to NTAP's NAS kingdom, imo. However, EMC has not delivered any NAS product, nor has it said when it will deliver such a product. DGN did not have a NAS product on the market when purchased by EMC.

Please keep your mind open. We are having a constructive discussion here are are very interested in new information. Looking forward to your substantiative contributions.

Re: "Storewidth"

As a longtime GTR subscriber I was pleased that GG is finally starting to focus on
storage (what he terms "storewidth") as the obvious compliment to bandwidth. EMC is
the CSCO in this space and I see nothing to challenge its leadership anytime soon.

SAN, NAS, etc. are terms describing still embryonic trends in what will be an enormous
market in the years ahead. The important point to realize is that this is not a zero-sum
game. For EMC to be hugely successful does not require that any other company fail.
Conversely, the success of other companies in this space (NTAP being one of the more
obvious examples) does not threaten EMC's future prospects.

I don't view EMC as a "SAN" company. They are a storage company and are a player
across all segments of that market. The DGN acquisition significantly broadened the
EMC offerings in the midrange and I expect that they will be a leading participant in
whatever high-growth storage opportunities present themselves.
