Lindy...aren't you about a week early? LOL!

p.s. I've been thinking the same thing. Kinda even miss Jach, too.

LindyBill, I remember those days, not so long ago, when we were trying to get some good out of the CSCO, MSFT, and AOL threads. I too was in SAP and got out by the skin of my teeth. It was you who told me when you saw my "balanced portfolio" that you didn't have time to make money in such a portfolio, that you were all high tech and slimming down on your picks. You got me to thinking, and I dumped the PG, GE, JNJ stuff.

Your performance is nothing short of fabulous.

The difference between you and me is that you move faster and smarter.

What a great way to put G&K in perspective, Bill. My own portfolio has returned 274% since we started this experiment in Gorilla-ology on 2/15/99, a little off its high of 314% on 11/10/99.

Playing host to a bunch of brilliant investors/philosophers has been a rewarding experience, in terms of both financial and psychic payback. Granted, I've had to take a few bullets in the process, but I also have a treasure of messages I've received from people who have prospered from watching our version of Ed TV.

I just came home from my last visit to the office. I picked up my final paycheck, signed the exit interview forms, and then asked my admin to cut my silk tie in half. I hung one piece in my office and will save the other half as a memento of over 30 years working for Corporate America.

My thanks to you, Merlin, and all of the contributors on G&K for the gift of time.

Nice respects, Lindy.

The amazing thing is, that it's not like you were selling off some bad chopped liver out of your 'basket' to consolidate either.

Take a look at this chart for the time period you mention (mid June to now):

A mutual fund manager would be given a huge bonus for these returns in 70 weeks. A normal investor would be feeling pretty darn smart. However, our very own dancing Gorilla knows how to avoid slipping on the banana peels.

Well danced Lindy.
