Greg, disagree with your point about handset news. This is not news. This is old stuff. Jacobs has said before that it may drag past the end of year. The real news will be the conditions of the sale.

Clarification: Dr. J said that the handset division sale will CLOSE in the first quarter of next year. The announcement of the terms of the sale (which is what will move the stock price) will occur before the end of the year.

LOL,

If you are planning to hold onto the stock for 6 months or
so, the timing of the sale doesn't really matter. What
matters is that the growth continues in the quarter in
which you want to sell. Us shareholders hope the market
maintains a high PE for QCOM!!

I think the stock price will remain around
4 times last quarter's EPS * 90 (PE) = 4 * .91 * 90 = $327/sh.
That's my "fair market value" for now. Next quarter, i
expect it to increase by 25%. The formula should hold,
although there would be pressure to decrease the PE,
if QCOM doesn't continue to grow at ~20%.

woof, woof,
