Sudan: Existing Oil Fields To Last 40 Years, Canadian Oil Executive Says
BBC Monitoring International Reports, 17 Nov.

The explored oil fields in Sudan are expected to produce for 40 years with a possibility of being more than that if new wells are drilled, the chairman of the Canadian oil company of Talisman said.

Speaking in a news conference, Mr Jimmy Begi [phonetic] commended the government efforts for retaining peace and said the oil returns will participate in promoting the essential services, adding that the electricity supply will be provided to Pariang town at Wahdah State [southern Sudan] within one month.

Mr Begi further explained that he and the accompanying delegation [word indistinct] during their current visit to Sudan that the government is using oil returns for development mainly at the regions of affected areas.
