Don't we?<< Ironically, I think that Athlon has scared Intel so much that Wilamette has been elevated to highest priority. Disregarding all of AMD's bragging and Intel stockholders laughing at Athlon, the COMPANY has been awakened. There will be a maximum effort for the next 9 months. That is why I will remain an Intel owner regardless of what happens the next 2 quarters. Frank

Charles, <..simple take on Wilamette schedule> Eah, we probably can consider the P68 schedule as an example of Intel's market adaptability <GGG>, I guess that is what that youth is puffed about (but did not realized yet :) Going back into 1995-96, Intel lead microprocessor analysts to believe that the original P68 project will be sampled in the middle of 1996, at 400MHz. Then shipments were expected in 2H97, Microsoft was gearing up to deliver new OS, then 1998 passed, then... ..you know where it is now. I tend to believe that the self-inflicted MHz pressure caused the P68/Williamette/Foster (or whatever those offsprings are) project to be redefined several times, so you can guess about the mess:) And please don't abase yourself by rendering an account to dipsticks; we all appreciate your insightful contribution and accurate analysis.
