<<<Malcolm, the gmst software isn't a passive look up table. It allows the users of cable or satellite tv to sort the hundreds of channels they have by area of interest, and also to program their tv or vcr to play/record the programs they select by the push of a button. Also, it will soon begin carrying advertising banners, similar to internet portals, which will create a huge revenue stream in which they will share.>>>

Maybe but as far as I can tell this is VAPORWARE, I mean these guys can't even get a website together and your talking as if they were Yahoo.

Someone tell me where I can see this IATVG please, I've totally aleniated every CE salesman in my area.

I also seem to recall (correct me if I'm wrong) that there is NO advertising in paper TV Guides. If ad money isn't a profit center of TV Guide after all these years ?????

Anyway I'de really like to see one.

Enjoy
Doug

To the thread and all. My name is John Haley and I have been lurking for some time now. As an introduction, I run a small software company and have been investing in the stock market for about 20 years and fairly actively for about the last 5 years. Mostly I invest in tech stocks and in companies that I understand.

I do not have Greg's time and speed reading ability to go through 10,000 posts. After reading his posts today I am almost, but not quite, ashamed to ask these questions because they are probably somewhere back there in the thread. But, here I go anyway!

First, has there ever been a consensus list of Gorillas and Kings? I notice the G&K Index list does not contain all the names that I see being discussed. Does the Index get updated from time to time?

I have followed several SI threads for some time and find this one to be one of the best. You guys do a much better job of sticking to information and not getting mixed up with personalities. I also like the CKFR, CYMI and CTXS threads. I have learned a lot from them. I am also a Gilder subscriber.

Now that I have broken silence, I may have a little more to say on occasion when I think I can contribute to the general knowledge.

Best to all,

JRH

malcolm, since you don't own a tv, may i suggest you go to your local appliance store and ask a salesman to show you a tv with gmst's epg. i at first also had a bit of a hard time grasping the full appeal of the epgs until i saw one. 'it is all crystal clear now.

100

sorry this was intended for malcolm and not you.
