As it stands right now, SI makes it easier to ignore someone than to send them a PM. Too easy, IMO, I've nearly hit the ignore thingy by accident a couple of times.

Duly noted. The feature request, as I see it, is to have a "Send PM" link beside each profile on the PeopleMarks page, which saves a click-through to the profile itself.

Currently, sending a private message seems to be tailored to responding to someone's public message. This "Send PM" link would facilitate private messages in a non-threaded environment.

Further ideas on the "message center"/inbox?
