Not to pour cold water on the analyst's increase, but I hate it when that happens. Something is VERY wrong when an analyst raises his estimates by such a large magnitude on the basis of conversation with company execs. Either the company told the analyst stuff that isn't available to others or the analyst took a Grand Canyon-size leap to jump to the conclusions he formed. In either case it's not good for the stock or the company.

If the stock goes way up on the basis of that analyst's estimate, and if there is any disappointing news whatsoever after it does that, the stock will tank. Then the company has a greater chance of taking on a reputation of hyping their own company despite the officers trying to do damage control in the CNET piece. The analyst sez that his optimism is based on the huge increase in ASP partners as if he hasn't paid any attention to the fact that company officers don't expect meaningful ASP revenue until 2001.

No wonder this stock is volatile.
