Satyam Computers' Nasdaq listing next year

Software major Satyam Computers Ltd, would makes strategic investments in overseas software firms to help them translate ideas into products, but would be "guarded and cautious" in acquiring companies.

"We would be extremely guarded in acquiring companies abroad. But, we have plans to make strategic investments in companies promoted by venture capital firms to help them translate ideas into products," B Ramalinga Raju, chairman of Satyam Computers told PTI here.

Satyam Computers would list its stocks on the Nasdaq stock exchange of the US next year and was looking for "right time" to go ahead, Raju said. The company has already appointed advisors for the issue but Raju declined to give details.

Satyam Infoway, the Internet arm of Satyam Computers recently completed successful listing on Nasdaq, which saw the company's shares rising $ 18 to $60 in a matter of days.

Investment banking sources said the company was likely to retain Merrill Lynch and Solomon Smith Barney as global advisors for the ADR issue of Satyam Computers.
