"To maintain a state of readiness and further protect against potential Y2K-related service disruptions, AT&T is instituting a special "quiet period" from December 1, 1999 through January 15, 2000. During this period, no new software or hardware will be introduced into the network or support systems [*]. Provisioning and scheduled maintenance will also be limited.
