I wondered if you would resort to personal nastiness. That way you win, as I depart soon after this technique begins. Congratulations in advance.

Bill, should a transcript surface confirming the remarks Dubya is reported to have made (ie that he would not knowingly appoint a homosexual as an ambassador or department head, though he wouldn't fire one), I am bemusedly preparing myself to hear that liberal agents have doctored the transcript or that liberal agents hypnotized Bush before he spoke or that a devilishly clever liberal ventriloquist was hidden behind the curtain!!!

Well, I have at least received from you the hypothetical statement that if Bush's words to the conservative Christians, that he would not knowingly appoint a homosexual as a dept head or ambassador, were as reported, you would disapprove them. That is something, I suppose.

An interesting bit of information that was also revealed in the Cal Thomas piece, in passing, is that efforts have been made to keep the content of candidate interviews with the Madison Project people confidential. I wonder why this would be.

A good deal of social-psychological theorizing has been devoted to the subject of The Will To Believe. It may be time for similar attention to be given to The Will To Disbelieve.
