<<<Well... I know... it's not really much of a story...>>> HAH! HAH!! TRIPLE HAH!!! I think if I need some ceremonies or de-demonizations, I'm calling you.

That was terrific.

Like, I really liked it.

And goddam your daddy devil caller.

That is a wonderful story. I think you should try to get it published, I really do. I think it's great, in fact. Obviously, rewrite it and take your time, you were just giving us a sketch, but wow.

I was going to lecture you about radiation vs. cancer, but decided not to, as I don't want to affect your creative impulse.

And, Croc, and, AND!! EVERY little brother should have an older sister like you.

And, the following sentence is a compliment: YA GOT BALLS, LADY!

And, I was maybe a teentsy bit hard on you Satanist father, who was really just looking for a way to protect his child, of course, and I can't help it SATAN is what popped in his head!!!

And, I would really really rilly, like to adopt you for MY older sister. Really. Honest. But uhm I think you are younger, but that doesn't matter, it's a Position, not a Census.

And, thank you for the pain suggestions. I think massage away from the pain is excellent, as well as the long hot baths. As I was telling Lather, unfortunately this precludes my favorite massage organ, but what the hay. I can survive, and I don't think I'll FORGET how to use it.

You know, If I were able to make sisters out of all the women I would like to be sisters on this thread, well, I would have some sisters. Probably even a SPARE, in case of some tragedy. I must keep the total separated, however. Only four or five together at one time..... Eeek! What if there's an ACCIDENT!

I shouldn't worry,
I shouldn't worry,
I shouldn't worry,
I shouldn't worry......

BTW, Croc, I think I remembered ~ hep me out here if you can ~ that the king near Mycenae's Lion Gate whose treasure was discovered (you mentioned the Golden Cup) ~ and there was the Golden Mask ~ I don't think now jeepers that was King Mynos.

And the Treasury building of....Atrius? (Nearby.) I forget. It has one of the nicest stone masonry domes in a the world.

I think it was someone else, and maybe Agamemnon?

And that the Mynos was King Minos of The Minoans. (Minotaur et al)

(Who preceded the Myceneans and were centered off the mainland of Greece on Crete, of course.) (4-5000 years BP?)

This is double or triple word score embarrassing, of course, as I studied everything about the Minoans I could find ~ one of Earth's GREATEST Civilizations, imho, without a doubt; and I even knew the names and layouts of all their Crete settlements and their chronologies ~ and still I made a big Paulo-booboo. I haven't looked it up, but I bet you know; and I bet you didn't say anything, which, would have been just fine, honest, and even appreciated, you sweetie. Like I say, I claim, :o), I used to know most of this stuff, but not really, anymore. So I just toss cookies.

Actually, and I expect this may be incredible, I try not to talk about things I don't know about; and I think my last rating with JFred and Associates was right near 50%. A record to stand by.

It is interesting that Mycenean Palaces, Palace Cities, were so similar and yet so DIFFERENT from Minoan, and this clear change highlights even more the uniqueness of the Minoan time.

They (Mycenean cities) were fortresses, with extremely similar (superficially) graphic/architectural designs (tho more rigid, "regal," tartan and martial) ~ and the Minoan Palaces, were not. Fortresses. They had no defensive works at all.

And the Cretan Palace-Cities possessed some of the most "free hand" art the world has seen. Really joyous, inspiring stuff. A relaxed, intelligent, innovative culture. Vibrant as vibrant can be.

Heads on right.

Wanted to be there.

I think of cultures that hit the near-top of conduct, and they are the highest in my memory.

Angkor et all, Khmer, wasn't bad; Asoka (India), etc, but still, the Minoans...... mama mia!

End of teeny lecture.

Well, you know, I bet you have seen that, too, or maybe sumthin diffrent.

It's the Happy Campers Award.

It's an INCREDIBLE story. Croc-- and I'm being very serious here--- see? look me in the eyes- this is my sincere look.
You MUST START PRINTING AND KEEPING THESE STORIES!! TRUST ME ON THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
(is that enough exclamation points?)

Just keep them in some sort of folder, and then start looking for a paper to send them to. That's what I did. And damned if they didn't print some!
Yesterday I sent an e-mail to my editor and asked if he wanted to see a column on turkeys and he wrote back- "Send it on. I'm game!"
I know he was just so tickled at himself - I sent the column with a note- The Thanksgiving Turkey- a Meaty Topic.

You are an excellent writer. And very funny and human--- practice on us, but start thinking about sending these wonderful little gems off!!

it's not really much of a story

Yeah, right! I just logged onto this thread and was blown away by this posting's awareness and sensitivity. Do please write the story. It is as complex and suggestive as you think it is.
