Weren't we talking about clock range recently on this thread ?quote.bloomberg.com Cypress Introduces PC Timing Solution For Use with the Camino <Image> Chipset; Two-Chip Spread Spectrum Frequency Timing Generators for Intel 820 Business Editors/High Tech Writers SAN JOSE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 19, 1999--Cypress Semiconductor Corp. (NYSE:CY) today introduced a Spread Spectrum Frequency Timing Generator solution for Intel's high-performance 820 chipset (also known as Camino). The two-chip solution includes the CY2210, which provides the reference timing for the CPU, PCI and other I/O interfaces, and Cypress's W134 (the only industry-approved Direct Rambus(TM) Clock Generator), which provides the signals for the Direct Rambus memory subsystem. The CY2210 offers multiple output clocks at different frequencies, including four CPU clocks at up to 133 MHz, four AGP clocks at 66 MHz, eight synchronous PCI clocks, and Spread Spectrum to reduce EMI emissions. Additional features include three APIC clocks, one USB clock at 48 MHz and two reference clocks at 14.318 MHz. The device is fully compliant to Intel's CK133 clock synthesizer and driver specification. The W134 generates clock source in the range of 267 to 400 MHz and supports Direct Rambus memory system with up to 1.6 GB per second data transfer rate. The W135 is offered in two versions-the W134M and the W134S. The only difference between the two is their frequency multiplier tables. "This two-chip solution highlights the benefits of the recent Cypress, IC Works merger," said, Ian Chen, director of marketing for Cypress's Timing Technology division. "We have used technology from each company to provide a market-leading solution that meets the needs of major PC OEMs." Price and Availability The CY2210 and the W134 are available now. Pricing for the CY2210 starts at $4.50 in 10,000-unit quantities and is offered in a 56-pin shrink small outline package (SSOP). The W134 starts at $2.75 in 10,000 unit quantities and is offered in 24-pin 150-mil shrink small outline package (SSOP).
