Hi Bill Jackson; I think that before too many years are out, everything will be on the mother board. That is, no daughter boards, CPU boards, or memory boards will be needed. Even the hard disk will be on the main board. When we reach that level of integration, it will no longer make sense to be a box maker. The box will have only one component, the main board. I'm not holding my breath, or, for that matter, making any investment decisions based on this. The above is a very distant prediction, but, on the other hand, the P/Es of the more pricey box makers (DELL ttm P/E = 60) suggests that investors think that the industry will remain stable enough for today's winners to remain on top in the distant future. -- Carl
