Larry,

Welcome to the thread!

I just don't get it!

Actually, I think you do. You're right that the current guides that are predominantly out there are not the guides that will bring in the big revenue. The current guides are bringing in enough revenue to increase Gemstar's earnings but the real future is in next-generation guides that are not predominantly in place yet.

Larry,

Now the TV Guide just scrolls so there is no interaction and the AXS guide is where you can move around to look for programs and get information which is not worth much.

The other guide you are using is by SFA. This infringes on Gemstar's intellectual property as they have alleged in a suit. SFA has indemnified Time Warner against damages should they lose the suit. We have the same guide here. It does not compare to Gemstar but where it does it infringes IMO. I have had quite a few conversations with my local TW cable affiliate concerning their promoting it as interactive. To make it short, they said if it moves or changes it is interactive. I was then invited to look the term up in the dictionary. That's cable for you! And also why they are losing over 200,000 customers each month to satellite.

Stew
