steve, I expect that EEKing you hear is from the 50 women who have been tasked to have this coppery baby in less than a week.
I wonder what goes on inside Intel? Heads are rolling? or do they shunt them sideways into dead end tasks to avoid the visibility and the shame?
From what people say this is a 'speed too far' for the coopermine and no amount of tweaking will get the yield up to the point where it peaks over 700. As it is they must make miilions of dead slow ones and select the few that run at 733 and sell the rest dirt cheap....which may be why they are cutting prices...warehouses are filing up and the OEMs are balking at buying a load of second rate chips unless they do become dirt cheap.

RE:".18 aluminum floppermine yields are poor...

What's news about that? iNhEL has been having .18 transition problems since Q3.

Who'd thunk'it? "...

I've been thunkin' it and writing about it for over a month...
And I've been slammed by the Intel faithful for thunkin' it...

Only one Floppermine ad today that I could fine and that was a "token" 733...
