CTI Signs Agreement with Latin American Consortium LAYTON, Utah--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 22, 1999--Computerized Thermal Imaging Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: COII - news) announced today that it has signed an engagement letter with a consortium of Latin American investors and service providers. The consortium known as Computerized Thermal Imaging International becomes CTI's key in the consortium's exclusive deployment throughout Latin America. A key member of the consortium, Pegaso PCS, S.A. de C.V. has agreed to work with CTI International to provide system wide connectivity beginning in Mexico. Computerized Thermal Imaging International has made a firm commitment to the purchase of 100 CTI diagnostic systems valued at approximately US$50,000,000 over a two-year period. It is expected that about 40 of these units can be deployed in Mexico beginning in the second quarter of 2000. "I am pleased to have this consortium as a part of our growing strategic team," said David Packer, president of CTI. "This relationship will enable us to start moving our technology into Latin America. Meanwhile we continue to move through clinical trials in the U.S. so as to obtain FDA approval as soon as possible. I estimate that the first 40 systems will be deployed to Mexico by the time of our anticipated FDA PMA approval." CTI systems will be interconnected throughout Mexico utilizing the Pegaso PCS network. Pegaso is deploying the first 100% digital network in Mexico with a planned initial investment of approximately $1.3 billion. Pegaso plans to offer nationwide PCS service, launching in the country's four largest cities in 1999. Pegaso has already introduced service in Monterrey, Guadalajara and Tijuana and plans to launch in Mexico City later this year.
