Last night I had venison tenderloin with asparagus and a cabernet sauvignon. Extraordinary. Beat any piece of beef I have ever had. I had a great time taking the deer. Wind was gentle and right in my face, the ground was moist. One of the coolest days we've had around here (can't believe this dang weather!) So I didn't use a stand. I basically walked up on him, moving in the woods about an inch a minute (grin). 130lbs dressed. I will try take another real soon. My children and I went out for squirrel. My oldest son had come down for a few days to go out with me for deer. So he took some of the other kids with him. We took quite a few squirrels between us all. We BBQ'd them and man was it ever fun. And wonderfully tasteful.
