What would be your intent in stating--

Regarding Optical networks, yes, CSCO did raid NT for 19 people and are now going to court. this months Forbes has an article on the recruitment methods used in the optical space. It is an interesting 1 pager.

Cisco does not control or own Optical Networks.

Brian,

If what you say is accurate about people leaving CSCO - it may have more to do with Cisco's stock price than with start-up's IPO'ing. It's my guess that Cisco engineers that have been with Cisco for any reasonable length of time don't need to work... Start-up's are for fun more than money. Could it be that CSCO provides more options to their employee's and therefore see's more attrition due to "early retirement" than perhaps LU or NT. I've heard that NT doesn't provide options at management levels... I'm not sure about LU.
