Mani,

Re:"intel's quarter"

I think the AMD longs get too focused on the battle some-times.

Intel recently cancelled a planned price cut on Celerons last month.

Recently they leaked that they will NOT be doing a price cut on PIII - classics on 12/11.

They have clearly screwed up the Cu-mine launch.

But they are sold out for the quarter and raising prices.

It is difficult to see how they fail to beat expectations while incrasing units and prices.

In addition flash and rest of their biz is very very strong.

I now think that they will do very well in Q4 due to upsides on demand.

I suspect that they will beat expectations even if Cumines shipments are sub 2M pcs.

They had forecast revenue up from Q3 in the 7-10% range.

With Flash and CPU demand running > 20% it is tough to see how they can remotely miss.

In fact it would not surprise me if there are PC shortages this christmas.

AMD will of course benefit much more than Intel in this scenario.

regards,

Kash
