C Kahn,

I understand all too well. I have godparents that would not come to my actual wedding because they didn't believe one could be held outdoors. We immediately went to the church and had it blessed by a Catholic priest, in their presence. This still was not good enough for them. My wife and I just summed it up to "you can't please everyone". It was their loss, though because the Lord was present all day. It had poured all around where we had it, kind of like a horse shoe of rain, just around us. You could see the clouds holding out for us. Quite beautiful. But my godparents even went so far as to write to the priest who did the blessing! He, being also an indian shaman(which is fairly unique in itself), responded that Catholics do recognize Christian marriages. So hopefully by now they have come to accept our marriage (her becoming Catholic last easter sure should have helped). Also, my father was a convert to Catholisism. My grandmother never spoke to us kids until about 5 years ago. I'm so happy she did have a change of heart, because I've gotten to know a very important lady.
