is anyone familiar with new hardware due out in early 2000 that upgrades the cpu with a chip and RAM on an expansion card? it is supposedly designed and intended for first generation pentiums that would otherwise require new mobos to substantially upgrade the processor and memory. the upgrade via expansion card route is also supposed to be very cost-effective, as i recall.

i was down at the local computer store this afternoon and the salesman there told me that he highly doubted this expansion card technology would work due to limitations with the pci bus. but i know i read about it somewhere, and just recently.

any help out there?

:)
